JMIBA offers a series of interactive workshops throughout the academic year designed to equip students with practical skills and global business insight.
Careers in IBUS
Held twice per semester, this workshop series helps students explore the IBUS program and diverse career paths in IBUS. Featuring alumni, industry professionals, and career experts, the sessions focus on navigating global job markets, building essential skills, and preparing for roles across borders.
Startup Conversation
This entrepreneurship-focused workshop brings founders and startup leaders together to share their journeys, challenges, and advice. Students gain firsthand insight into launching and scaling businesses internationally, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and network with innovators driving change.
CASE COMPETITIONS
The JMIBA Beginner Case Competition and Advanced Case Competition challenge students to apply their analytical, strategic, and presentation skills to a real-world international business scenario. The competition encourages teamwork, creative problem-solving, and business acumen under time pressure. Participants present their solutions to a panel of judges made up of faculty and industry professionals, gaining valuable feedback and networking opportunities.
NEXTPATRIATES
Flagship event that brings together students and professionals to explore the evolving landscape of international careers. Centered around the theme of what it means to be a “next-generation expatriate,” the conference features keynote speakers, expert panels, and interactive discussions on global mobility, cross-cultural leadership, and emerging trends in international business.
RECRUITMENT COCKTAIL
Premier networking event, designed to connect students with industry professionals in a relaxed, professional setting. Held once a year, this cocktail-style evening brings together top employers, alumni, and International Business students for meaningful conversations about career opportunities, internships, and future collaborations.
GLOBAL INSIGHTS
Our international affairs event, brings together students and distinguished global leaders for an engaging day of diplomacy, dialogue, and learning. Each year, we welcome foreign diplomats, ambassadors, and consuls general to share their perspectives on international relations, trade, diplomacy, and globalization. This unique conference offers students a rare opportunity to engage directly with high-level representatives from around the world and gain a deeper understanding of the intersection between international business and global policy.
EMERGING MARKETS PROGRAM (EMP)
A two-week trip abroad where JMSB students explore business practices in developing and emerging economies. Through company visits, cultural experiences, and professional seminars, students gain firsthand insight into global operations, market dynamics, and international strategy.
